A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that cove

LESSONS OF LIFE FROM AN EXPRESS ROAD

was seated in the BRT bus on Monday and i decided to peep through the windows, and to my greatest surprise i was given a complete view of life. Most times inspirations comes from things or people we least expect, the view of the under bride road gave me a complete different view about life. Now before I list the views I got I would want to point out the following scenario that takes place on the express road. We are familiar with the way cars race past and are only stopped by traffic which rarely occurs We also are familiar with the way those guys selling stuffs on the road try to catch up with some vehicles so as to sell their wares. Am sure you’ve also witness where a gala seller sells gala to someone in a car and before he can collects his money the vehicle races off. I also realized we only buy from those who are fast enough to get to vehicle even while it is moving Have you also noticed those super swift guys who run faster than Usain Bolt just to sell

ASK, SEEK AND FIND ( THE KNOWN SECRET)

good day great-minds, am sure you all are familiar with Mattew 7:7 which talks about asking, seeking, and finding. some days ago this verse just kept on coming through my mind and by God's grace i was able to get a key thing about this passage. we sometimes wonder why our prayers don't get answered 😞😞 but the thing is they do get answered but we are just so unaware of that.😱😱 Mattew 7:7 says ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you. ill try to make this as brief as possible with some headings👍👍 ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE to ask simply means to request for something. When we ask God for something ( something good and sincere thou) He tends to give it to us. the problem here is we sometimes don't know we have gotten it, God encourages hard-work so even when He is giving you something you asked for you will still need some hard-work to get it. when you ask the answer is packaged waiting for you to

CHILDREN

"groundnut 50 50 naira buy your groundnut" "chin chin here, sweet chin chin" the rhythm their voices created calmed my nerves. i smiled as the youngest of them walked up to me " Aunty you wan buy groundnut?" " no dearie thanks though " i smiled if only she knew i haven't eaten anything since morning and even had to stand on the queue for hours waiting for BRT just because no money. their smile s, the way they chatted as they moved selling their stuffs. they weren't shy of what they sell, their laughter was just enough to make you forget the stress faced at work. " you no fit give me two for #50 abi" " sir na 1 we dey sell #50 no be two" "oya make i taste if the groundnut sweet" he packed a handful of groundnut while the little girl looked on hoping he would buy after the tasting. " the groundnut sef no sweet, i no fit buy am jare" bros you think you will make heaven abi i

IF LIFE ISN'T FAIR. BLEACH IT

am so sure you went ha ha ha ha when you saw this funny title, yeah!!! i thought so too when i got the inspiration to write on it but after i meditated on it, everything became very very clear. majority of us are fond of complaining, nagging, crying and shouting LIFE ISN'T FAIR!!!, just because you lost your loved ones, failed an examination, had a break-up or lost a job opportunity. am sure you would be expecting me to write on how to bleach life since it isn't fair, but dearie just as i wouldn't advice you to use a bleaching cream, i won't also advice you to bleach your life. some of us are black, dudu, brown, red, chocolate, fair, yellow, afi e.t.c in complexion, that was just the way we were created.  it wasn't our choice to make, but rather to love. irrespective of the complexion you are, it is expected of you to love yourself.  i wonder why so many people love bleaching their colors, they want to become fair because they think fairness if beauty. you

THE OTHER SIDE

Am not here to talk an about the other room oh LOL😆😆 this one is about the other side. Please drop your comments, I would love to know how you feel about this post.    I was in church for the digging deep service, when the Preacher started teaching I noticed what he was saying didn't correspond with the digging deep study sheet I was given.  I checked the date of the sheet and it was 18th of October 2016 and the date for that day was 11th. I noticed the congregation didn't look confused like I was so I thought of calling the attention of the usher.  Before I could get the attention of the ushers I decided to turn the other side of the sheet and there it was 11th October 2016 the topic for that day. NOTE: Before I realized the topic been preached was on the other side, the preacher was almost through with the teaching. This singular event opened my eyes to amazing life lessons I would be sharing here. 1) Majority of us have been believing God for a particular blessin

CONDUCTOR'S SECRET

Y e sterday i boarded a bus to work and the conductor taught me a very important life lesson.  When i entered i was the only one in the bus and there were several buses there calling out for passengers but this conductor of the bus i entered did something i loved. He went across the road and started calling for passengers, he assisted some in crossing the road and he carried luggage of others. He also had to persuade some that his bus was going to move immediately they entered and before the twinkle of an eye the bus was filled while other buses were still there. After some passengers dropped he had to call for more passengers, the first two passengers offered to pay less which was ridiculous.  He refused to carry them and the bus moved to another location, getting there he picked passengers who paid exactly what he called.  It got me thinking thank God he didn't to carry those who offered to less. HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w
