A story of my confused state

  2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

MY PROJECT


My Talent, My Pride initiative was founded in 2016.It was aimed at enlightening and directing Children on how to discover and use their talents the right way.

Talent shows were held which had over hundred children present to showcase their talents. We've had various talents showcase which includes dancing ,singing, acting, drawing among others.

In 2019 Self Development project was founded which is in line with the 4th sustainable
development goal of the United Nations. 
 The level of illiteracy among children was alarming and in 2020 the self development project kicked off in a school located in Ogun state.
We had volunteers of My talent my pride initiative take out time to teach the children 
basic literacy skills which include reading,writing and speaking English.

We had an individual who made a pledge of #20,000 to be used in getting refreshment for the school children.
We are still sourcing for  donations towards the projects.

MY TALENT, MY PRIDE( DISCOVER YOURSELF)

Bola,Tayo, Ayo amd Bimpe where very close friends. they are the type of kids every parents would always pray to have. Bola was a very talented singer, she sings like an angel and everyone adores her. Tayo too was a good dancer, he is so flexible that one would wonder if his body where made of foam. Ayo wasn't left out, he was so good with spellings, he could spell words those older than him would find difficult spelling. Bimpe felt like the odd one out,"why am i the one without a talent"she would always say to herself. whenever she went out with her friends for talents audition she would always feel left out because she has nothing to present. she would always cry her eyes out sometimes wishing she was her friends. she envied her friends talents and most times prayed to God to make her a singer, dancer or a good speller. when she saw her prayers have been ignored by God she started attending dance and music classes, she would always go to her friend Ayo to teach ...
