A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

MY FIRST BUSINESS AT AGE 4

I could remember vividly, i was four years old then when i started my business. I noticed my parents were struggling to feed us and since they still had other expenses to cover i knew i had to support them somehow. My mum had just give birth to my sister Favor, i collected all her medicine bottles ( those one that looks like a feeder) i washed them all then bought milk and sugar which i mixed in a small bowl and filled them all. This i did without telling my mum because i knew she wouldn't approve of it. I took my products to school the next day and quietly informed my classmates about it and the price, the sales i made was encouraging and i continued selling it till i had no more bottles so it ended. Though the money realized from it wasn't that much but i was so happy i could afford matches, pencil, Biro e.t.c just to support. I had a bank then which i owned, i called it WISDOM BANK it was the usual kolo where i do save the petty cash i got from my business, friends,...

CONDUCTOR'S SECRET

Y e sterday i boarded a bus to work and the conductor taught me a very important life lesson.  When i entered i was the only one in the bus and there were several buses there calling out for passengers but this conductor of the bus i entered did something i loved. He went across the road and started calling for passengers, he assisted some in crossing the road and he carried luggage of others. He also had to persuade some that his bus was going to move immediately they entered and before the twinkle of an eye the bus was filled while other buses were still there. After some passengers dropped he had to call for more passengers, the first two passengers offered to pay less which was ridiculous.  He refused to carry them and the bus moved to another location, getting there he picked passengers who paid exactly what he called.  It got me thinking thank God he didn't to carry those who offered to less. LESSONS FROM THIS STORY Develop a strategy that makes people ...

PRESS THE HORN

ok, here we are with another lesson for the day Life is a book and everyday represent a chapter from which life lessons can be learnt. Yesterday on my way home i boarded a Keke, while on the road a bus by our side tried overtaking us and all our driver had to do was just to press the horn and the bus driver realised his place. Later on another Keke tried overtaking us and he succeeded because our driver was busy doing something else that he forgot to press the horn. What really is the purpose of a Car horn? The vehicle operator uses the horn to warn others of the vehicle's approach or presence, or to call attention to some hazard. So many people complain of been trampled on, they complain about been used and cheated on. They complain about friends and family making them feel useless, they complain about others taking credit for what they suffered on. should we be blunt with each other YOU MADE THAT HAPPEN Just as every car has a horn, every individual has ...

BE YOUR DECISION MAKER

last week i was in a BRT and when the pilot was about taking the normal route majority of the passengers opposed and told him to take a different route, and since we love the CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT phrase he obliged. we were so shocked to meet with a standstill traffic at the route the passengers suggested and after 30 minutes those passengers who suggested the change of route started insulting the driver and telling him that he doesn't know how to do his job well. they told him he ought to know the best route to take. I felt pity for the driver who by pleasing his passengers got himself into a bigger mess. This event actually taught me something LESSONS . The same people who made you change your mind would still throw stones at you for agreeing to their idea. . Advises are not for you to take but to decide . Customers aren't always right, they sometimes don't even know what they want . Don't be bothered about ple...

OPTION B

Yesterday after work i was at my bus-stop waiting for a Keke to drop me at new garage Ikeja, but i saw the number of people waiting for the same Keke and considering the whether i knew chances i would get a Keke was slim.  I decided to trek though the whether wasn't in my favor since it was already drizzling. throughout the journey to Ikeja i could barely count three Keke that past me and to my surprise it didn't rain. This event immediately taught me a life lesson which i would love to share. LESSON: There are so many individuals waiting to get to that destination you are vying for, and you all are waiting to get there through the same means. in life there is always an option B, because your graduated as an accountant doesn't mean you must work in a bank. GET AN OPTION B. You are patiently waiting with billions of people for that job, position, achievement that would take you to your destination. what if it never comes would you be stranded at your present positio...

MAT 25:14-30 PARABLE OF THE THREE SERVANTS

Hello friends today we would be studying the book of MAT 25:14-30 in a different way SUMMARY OF THE PARABLE OF THE THREE SERVANTS a particular master was about to go on a journey so he gave his first servant 5 talents, the second 2 talents and the last servant 1 talent after which he went on his journey. the first servant traded with his talents and added 5 more to it, the second servant also did the same and added 2 more but the last servants thought that he has been cheated, he felt he wasn't loved by his master so rather than trading with his talent he hid it until the return of his master. When the master returned he asked of the account of the talents and all the servants gave accounts. He appreciated the first two servants and had the last one thrown into the wilderness. EXPLANATION OF THE PARABLE The parable above is just exactly what happened when we all were been sent to the world. We were given talents which we ought to trade with here on earth ...

HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w...

UNDERSTANDING the way to PERFECTION

Perfect sontin!!! I want a perfect job, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, I want to be perfect. These are demands we make daily. You can't get a perfect sontin, job, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend... These are answers we get when we ask for the above. What exactly is perfection? Though the dictionary defined it as without fault, weakness, to be complete, exact and correct But in the actual sense understanding comes before perfection There is actually no perfect human on earth, but there perfect humans on earth if understanding is placed first. Perfection to me is "knowing the fault, weakness, lack... Of a person, thing, job or yourself, understanding it is already a part of them and deciding those you can change and those that can't be changed, then seeing the person, thing, job or yourself as perfect. For someone or something to be perfect You must have listed out their weakness and faults. Note those you can change and work on them Note those you can...
