A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

UNDERSTANDING the way to PERFECTION

Perfect sontin!!! I want a perfect job, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, I want to be perfect. These are demands we make daily.

You can't get a perfect sontin, job, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend... These are answers we get when we ask for the above.

What exactly is perfection?
Though the dictionary defined it as without fault, weakness, to be complete, exact and correct
But in the actual sense understanding comes before perfection
There is actually no perfect human on earth, but there perfect humans on earth if understanding is placed first.

Perfection to me is "knowing the fault, weakness, lack... Of a person, thing, job or yourself, understanding it is already a part of them and deciding those you can change and those that can't be changed, then seeing the person, thing, job or yourself as perfect.

For someone or something to be perfect
You must have listed out their weakness and faults.
Note those you can change and work on them
Note those you can't change and decide either to live with it.

A couple who has been married for years where asked how they coped with each other.
They replied that their marriage has been a perfect one because they have understood their weakness and worked on those they could change and ignored the rest, and with that they see each other as perfect.

Jesus Christ actually might not be perfect from the human eyes, he was from a poor home, he had no girlfriends, he was the over serious type etc but we call Him perfect/He is seen as perfect because we understand the purpose for His presence on earth made it so, if he had done some playplay He might have missed it.

I can boldly say am perfect because I know my weakness and faults, I have worked on those I can change and have decided to live with the rest.
I might not be perfect to you because you haven't studied me and understood my ways.

There are certain faults that can't be changes, example is physical disabilities.
You don't base an individual's perfection on the above because they can't change it.

Understanding is the best proven way to perfection.

I am perfect but if tomorrow boo comes and says there are certain things am not doing right and need to change, he can work on me and change them.

You're not perfect if the faults you have are those you can change but have failed in working on them.

You can be perfect
Apply understanding today

MY TALENT, MY PRIDE( DISCOVER YOURSELF)

Bola,Tayo, Ayo amd Bimpe where very close friends. they are the type of kids every parents would always pray to have. Bola was a very talented singer, she sings like an angel and everyone adores her. Tayo too was a good dancer, he is so flexible that one would wonder if his body where made of foam. Ayo wasn't left out, he was so good with spellings, he could spell words those older than him would find difficult spelling. Bimpe felt like the odd one out,"why am i the one without a talent"she would always say to herself. whenever she went out with her friends for talents audition she would always feel left out because she has nothing to present. she would always cry her eyes out sometimes wishing she was her friends. she envied her friends talents and most times prayed to God to make her a singer, dancer or a good speller. when she saw her prayers have been ignored by God she started attending dance and music classes, she would always go to her friend Ayo to teach ...

HOW I LOST MY JOB

HOW I LOST MY JOB (2016) The company's new managing director called me into his office. MD: Titi I'm very sure you're aware of the financial setback this company is facing and right now all hands ought to be on deck towards restructuring the company. Me: Yes Sir MD: Right now I need people that can get me ten million naira per month through marketing and the way I'm seeing you, you can't befriend those men that can put money into this business. Or can you? Me: No Sir MD: Well, I need those who can go to any length to get me that money. In that case your service is no longer needed here... I couldn't get another job for months until February when I got the teaching job, I was told I'm going to be paid an amount which is my previous salary divided by 3. I was already crying inside me, it was like a grace to grass story but man has gat no choice so I accepted it. I knew if I was to base my teaching on my salary it won't turn out well so I had to...

HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w...
