A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

OPTION B

Yesterday after work i was at my bus-stop waiting for a Keke to drop me at new garage Ikeja, but i saw the number of people waiting for the same Keke and considering the whether i knew chances i would get a Keke was slim.
I decided to trek though the whether wasn't in my favor since it was already drizzling. throughout the journey to Ikeja i could barely count three Keke that past me and to my surprise it didn't rain.

This event immediately taught me a life lesson which i would love to share.

LESSON: There are so many individuals waiting to get to that destination you are vying for, and you all are waiting to get there through the same means.
in life there is always an option B, because your graduated as an accountant doesn't mean you must work in a bank. GET AN OPTION B.

You are patiently waiting with billions of people for that job, position, achievement that would take you to your destination. what if it never comes would you be stranded at your present position?
Everybody does it the easy way by waiting, a billion people are also waiting so when would it get to you. Rather than waiting patiently why not get an option B.
Why not take the walk yourself

You're depending on that uncle or connection to get you to your destination but the fact is a billion people are also waiting for that connection to also get there.
Rather that waiting why not take the walk, GET AN OPTION B.

Sometimes we want to do it the easy way because of some obstacles that we might face while taking the option B but the funny thing is those obstacles might just be facades trying to discourage you from making a move.

you need to take a step
think differently
get more value
create  your own opportunity

MY QUOTES
Sometimes the difficult is the easy in disguise
Obstacles are facades trying to dissuade you from reaching your goal
Hard decisions are sometimes like bitter-leaf

HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w...

MY TALENT, MY PRIDE( DISCOVER YOURSELF)

Bola,Tayo, Ayo amd Bimpe where very close friends. they are the type of kids every parents would always pray to have. Bola was a very talented singer, she sings like an angel and everyone adores her. Tayo too was a good dancer, he is so flexible that one would wonder if his body where made of foam. Ayo wasn't left out, he was so good with spellings, he could spell words those older than him would find difficult spelling. Bimpe felt like the odd one out,"why am i the one without a talent"she would always say to herself. whenever she went out with her friends for talents audition she would always feel left out because she has nothing to present. she would always cry her eyes out sometimes wishing she was her friends. she envied her friends talents and most times prayed to God to make her a singer, dancer or a good speller. when she saw her prayers have been ignored by God she started attending dance and music classes, she would always go to her friend Ayo to teach ...

THE BEAUTY OF FAILURE

behind every failure there is a hidden beauty which is only discovered by those who are not defeated by their failures but rather take each failure as a stepping stone to a successful tomorrow. the story of the two great men below shows that there is truly a beauty behind every failure, though this stories are just summaries but it would be of your advantage if you read more on them. THOMAS EDDISON the man who invented the electric light bulb failed 999 times before getting it right.  While in school his teacher told him he was too stupid to learn anything, he was fired from his first two jobs for been non productive. when a reporter asked him how he felt to fail 1,000 times he replied i didnt fail 1,000 times, the light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps ALBERT EINSTEIN failed maths while in school, even after school he was unsuccessful at businesses he tried doing, to express his misery he wrote his friend a letter saying i am now the most miserable man living. if w...
