A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

SELF LOVE

From the creation story in Gen 1:26, we learnt God created man in his own image and likeness, no wonder the bible says in Ps 82:6 that "I have said, ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most high".

On the 9th April in church the word SELF LOVE was dropped in my spirit and after meditating on it I got some revelation about it.
Rom 5:8 "But God shows his Love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us", have you ever pondered on why God instructed Christ to die for us because of our sins.
Why did he still love us despite our wicked ways.
That was SELF LOVE in action, when God looks at us he sees Himself because he created us in his image and likeness.
Despite our sins, He couldn't bring himself to hate us because he keeps seeing himself in us, no wonder he had to sacrifice his only begotten son for our sake.
Eph 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her". The church isn't the building but we the occupants. The bible uses self love in various instance to describe how we are to love others.

John 15:12 "This is my commandment that you love one another as i have loved you"
1 John 4:16 "So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in Love abides in God, and God abides in him"
Eph 5:29 "For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church"
Mark 12:31 "The second is this, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself" There is no other commandment greater than this"
God created us in His own image and likeness, He created Adam and Eve who later multiplied into the population we have now. In summary we all are of one flesh because we are from the same father.
Have you ever wondered why God didn't send Christ to die for all animals. That is because they weren't created in his image and likeness. So he doesn't see himself in them.

Self love is regard for one's own well being and happiness. That means for self love to come into existence we first must understand that we are one.
Just as God regard us as gods since we were created in his image, we too must see one another as ONE, we must look at our neighbor and see yourself in them.
If we can bring ourselves into that realm then self love would be in existence.

The reason human beings cause each other pain, hurt and even murder themselves is absence of self love.
Selfishness has taken the place of self love in our world today, all are thoughts are based on ME ME ME. We are ignorant to the fact that we are one, there is no me without you.

2 Tim  3:1-5 talks about the last days where love of money, selfishness, proudness, arrogance, disobedience, unholiness, lovers of pleasure etc would fill the heart of all and that's why self love has gone into extinction.

Self love considers others, it is without envy and hate. It is pure and always wanting the best for all.
We need SELF LOVE

HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w...

FOODS THAT PROMOTE A CHILD'S GROWTH AND ABILITIES

A balanced diet of nutritious food is the key to a child's healthy growth and development. No food or food group will suddenly add inches to an aspiring dancer. Human growth depends on different organs and processes working together. A balanced diet of grains, fruits, vegetables, and proteins such, as milk, eggs, and meats, provides essential nutrients to all parts of the body so that every inch and pound gained is a healthy inch and pound. Breads and Grain Products Carbohydrates provide the energy kids need to grow and thrive. doctors recommends that about 60 percent of the calories children consume each day should come from carbohydrates found in whole-grain breads, pasta, waffles ,and cereals, both hot and cold. Grain-based foods that have undergone the least amount of processing and refining deliver the highest levels of nutrition to children. It's almost impossible to go wrong with oatmeal, although the instant varieties have high amounts of added sugar. Other food...
