CHILD OF THE WEEK Skip to main content

A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

CHILD OF THE WEEK

our talented child celebrity of the week goes to our dear loving EMMANUELLA  SAMUEL
this little girl have entertained us beyond our imaginations
now after studying young emmanuella for some things i listed out some things that we should learn from her.
Am so sure there are so many youngsters out there who are trying to get known through their talents among which we have Emmanuelle, Amarachi, Ozzy who stood out from them all.
Today we would be looking at the things that made these ones stand out and we would be using Emmanuella as our case study.
Just like you have already known Emanuella isn’t a child from a wealthy background, she doesn’t have the connection that we all think we need before we can be successful in this life.
Now today I bring you things behind the success of Emmanuella
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BEEN SUCESSFUL

  • ·         She is ever ready to learn: am so sure she is not the type that feels she knows all and shouldn’t be corrected on what to do.  So in other to be successful in life you must be ever ready to learn.
  • ·         She is humble: many of you might say how I came about that. Well am very sure most of us won’t want to put on the kind of clothes she wears after been so popular. We would have wanted to dress like the queen of Britain but that little girl still maintains a humble lifestyle, no bragging on social network or taking of pictures that exposes the private parts.
  • ·         She is happy at what she does: watching her videos you would see a girl who is happy about what she does. Whatever you find yourself doing be happy about it.
  • ·         She is bold and smart: yea, I envy that girl boldness whenever she is on set. She puts on this seriousness that makes you think she is a teenager. Even when she is invited to do stand-up comedy she acts mature. She isn’t the shy type but rather she feels free on stage and interacts freely with her audience.
  • ·         She is good at what she does
  • ·         She is friendly
  • ·         She is outspoken
  • ·         She is dedicated to what she is doing
  • ·         She is proud of who she is, she doesn’t wish she was someone else.
  • ·         And lastly they put God first in all they do

This are the things you would always find in a successful man and am sure you would apply it also to yourself and before you know you are THERE!!!.

MY TALENT, MY PRIDE( DISCOVER YOURSELF)

Bola,Tayo, Ayo amd Bimpe where very close friends. they are the type of kids every parents would always pray to have. Bola was a very talented singer, she sings like an angel and everyone adores her. Tayo too was a good dancer, he is so flexible that one would wonder if his body where made of foam. Ayo wasn't left out, he was so good with spellings, he could spell words those older than him would find difficult spelling. Bimpe felt like the odd one out,"why am i the one without a talent"she would always say to herself. whenever she went out with her friends for talents audition she would always feel left out because she has nothing to present. she would always cry her eyes out sometimes wishing she was her friends. she envied her friends talents and most times prayed to God to make her a singer, dancer or a good speller. when she saw her prayers have been ignored by God she started attending dance and music classes, she would always go to her friend Ayo to teach ...

HOW I LOST MY JOB (2016) The company's new managing director called me into his office. MD: Titi I'm very sure you're aware of the financial setback this company is facing and right now all hands ought to be on deck towards restructuring the company. Me: Yes Sir MD: Right now I need people that can get me ten million naira per month through marketing and the way I'm seeing you, you can't befriend those men that can put money into this business. Or can you? Me: No Sir MD: Well, I need those who can go to any length to get me that money. In that case your service is no longer needed here... I couldn't get another job for months until February when I got the teaching job, I was told I'm going to be paid an amount which is my previous salary divided by 3. I was already crying inside me, it was like a grace to grass story but man has gat no choice so I accepted it. I knew if I was to base my teaching on my salary it won't turn out well so I had to...

HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w...
