LIFE'S PRINCIPLE Skip to main content

A story of my confused state

2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...

LIFE'S PRINCIPLE

I was in a brt some days ago, the brt stopped at a bus stop and some passengers alighted. A particular lady didn't make her way fast to the door before the vehicle took off. From the back of the brt she urged the driver to stop but he drove on.
From the experience above I noticed some things that went wrong:
1) Those who wanted to alight got up from their seats and stood close to the door. THEY WHERE READY EVEN BEFORE THEY GOT TO THEIR BUS STOP.
2) Even after the bus took off, the lady only called the attention of the driver once which am sure he didn't hear. SHE WASN'T SERIOUS ENOUGH
3) Other passengers didn't bother telling the driver to stop the bus since the lady didn't look concerned. YOUR ATTITUDE SOMETIMES DETERMINE OTHERS ATTITUDE.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE LIFE'S PRINCIPLES🙇🙇
I would be listing three important life principles in relating to the above subject.

1) In life you must always be ready because time waits for no one. When opportunity comes knocking do you have something for it? You blab about your ability to sing and say you are looking for an opportunity to showcase yourself. Have you been training your voice? How many songs have your scored? Have you tried singing in churches? Opportunity is a trade by barter thing, when it comes you must have have something tangible to show it if not it goes top someone who is ready. There are a billion people looking for opportunities so stand out by been ready.

2) In life you must be able to persuade, convince , and buy people over. Do you think you are good? Do you think your idea is brilliant one? Do you think you deserve it? Well, there are people out there who think like you do towards their selves, so judgments aren't based on thinking.

Learn to persuade, convince, buy them over

3) The value you place on your self, service or ideas determine others value on it. Be convinced you are good. Have a high self esteem about yourself. Jesus died for you because you mean a lot to him. So you are valuable , make them see it .

Failure to follow this principle might lead you to the wrong destination.

MY TALENT, MY PRIDE( DISCOVER YOURSELF)

Bola,Tayo, Ayo amd Bimpe where very close friends. they are the type of kids every parents would always pray to have. Bola was a very talented singer, she sings like an angel and everyone adores her. Tayo too was a good dancer, he is so flexible that one would wonder if his body where made of foam. Ayo wasn't left out, he was so good with spellings, he could spell words those older than him would find difficult spelling. Bimpe felt like the odd one out,"why am i the one without a talent"she would always say to herself. whenever she went out with her friends for talents audition she would always feel left out because she has nothing to present. she would always cry her eyes out sometimes wishing she was her friends. she envied her friends talents and most times prayed to God to make her a singer, dancer or a good speller. when she saw her prayers have been ignored by God she started attending dance and music classes, she would always go to her friend Ayo to teach ...

HOW I LOST MY JOB (2016) The company's new managing director called me into his office. MD: Titi I'm very sure you're aware of the financial setback this company is facing and right now all hands ought to be on deck towards restructuring the company. Me: Yes Sir MD: Right now I need people that can get me ten million naira per month through marketing and the way I'm seeing you, you can't befriend those men that can put money into this business. Or can you? Me: No Sir MD: Well, I need those who can go to any length to get me that money. In that case your service is no longer needed here... HOW TO COPE WITH SLOW LEARNERS

I remember my first experience with a slow learner. At first I thought he was just lazy but later I realised it wasn't laziness. He was always quite, doesn't answer questions in class and rarely relate with his peers. Within months of my stay in the school I started noticing some changes in my boy. He now attempts assignment and classwork given. He talks in class and now relates well with his classmates. The trick is to first make them feel safe in class rather than make your expectations a burden to them. Over the years I've had to teach slow Learners and it has been a wonderful experience. The link below is a podcast where I talked on how to cope with Slow Learners. It's a ten minutes audio that summarizes strategies you can put in place when you have a slow learner in class. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer them. https://anchor.fm/MissDairo%20/episodes/How-to-cope-with-Slow-Learners-ef5bj4 Don't forget to leave a comment and share w...
