2018, I moved to Ogun state and had to seek employment in a school within my vicinity. As a Lagos teacher, I was used to a vibrant class, swift answers and mushy acts by my students. So I resumed at my new work place with that fully charged energy. The first day got me confused. I was to teach the primary classes, I started my class and it was obvious these children were not following. They could neither understand what I was saying nor did they show any bit of interest. It was then I knew I had to start from the scratch. First, I had to create a connection. I wanted them to understand that I am first their friend. I needed to set the foundation that they can have both a friend and teacher in one. After that, I came down to their level. I made them feel and appreciate every little progress they made. I built up their interest in education. We worked together, applying several strategies I discovered and created, and within some month the growth was evident. Eureka is a book that ...
Bola,Tayo, Ayo amd Bimpe where very close friends. they are the type of kids every parents would always pray to have. Bola was a very talented singer, she sings like an angel and everyone adores her.
Tayo too was a good dancer, he is so flexible that one would wonder if his body where made of foam.
Ayo wasn't left out, he was so good with spellings, he could spell words those older than him would find difficult spelling.
Bimpe felt like the odd one out,"why am i the one without a talent"she would always say to herself.
whenever she went out with her friends for talents audition she would always feel left out because she has nothing to present. she would always cry her eyes out sometimes wishing she was her friends.
she envied her friends talents and most times prayed to God to make her a singer, dancer or a good speller.
when she saw her prayers have been ignored by God she started attending dance and music classes, she would always go to her friend Ayo to teach her how to spell. she started feeling good within herself, she could now sing, dance and even spell. she walks with pride wherever she goes to,"at last i have figured it out" she said to herself.
she found herself alongside other strange individuals walking on a lonely road, she wondered where she was "this doesnt look like my room" she said to herself, she turned to her left and she was surprised to see Bola,Tayo and Ayo. "hello, hello Bola..." she tried running while she called out to them but she discovered she has difficulty moving. she felt heavy within herself, she looked around and noticed most people where walking freely and other too where in her shoes. she was still trying to figure things out when a loud voice brought her back to reality.
"daniel chibuzor over here" a man in white said with a loud voice and then a young man walked towards him. "hmmm you are still the same way you left. you didnt even use any of what i gave you" the man in white shook his head "am so sorry, i waasss just tooo busy" he stammered as tears rolled down his cheek. "it is too late daniel, you dont belong here anymore. you belong to the other" the man in white told him as the devil came and dragged him out.
it was then Bimpe came back to her senses "am i dead?...what am i doing here...why do i feel so heavy. no no no this must be a mistake"she said to herself with a confused look. "Nelson Bimpe!!!" the man shouted as she didnt seem to hear the first time. "yes sir no am sorry, yes my Lord"she answered in fear. "why are so heavy my child. why didnt you use it" he asked her "you forgot sir, you didnt give me any talent. i even had to learn to sing and dance just because i wanted to do something for you" she answered feeling justified "hmmm bimpe, bimpe!!!, i gave you the best of it all but you where so carried away with having your friends talents that you ignored yours" "you didnt give me any Lord, you didnt!!!" she shouted
"bimpe have you forgotten how the answer you gave to dotun solved all his problems, have you forgotten how your mom was able to rise again after your encouragement. i made you a counsellor, i gave you a special wisdom but you didnt use it. i put thousands of my children under your care but just because you failed to use your talents they have gone astray...you belong on the other side go!!!" he called on the next person as the devil dragged her way.
"bimpe, bimpe!!! wake up its morning already" her mother tapped her "ahhhhhhhhh!!!" she screamed out of her sleep.
"good morning ladies and gentlemen we bring to you today Nelson Bimpe. the founder of SOLUTION PLACE the divine orator whom God has used in blessing billions of life" all clapped as Bimpe walked towards the stage.
when i stand before God at the end of my life, i would hope that i would not have a single bit of talent left and could say "i used everything you gave me" ERMA BOMBECK
